The exhibition featured experimental work, where I ​experimented with backlit surface photography, UV printed ​on glass to add to my themes of transparency.

I juxtaposed plant epidermis with cling wrap, symbolizing the ​interplay of transparency, the delicate intricacies of nature,

and the themes of fragility and duality.

“Huh?” is a mental stutter. It captures our mental state during information ​overload: the split second when our cognitive faculties are momentarily ​suspended, and our mind seeks to recalibrate to make sense of the ​overwhelming stimuli. It denotes a moment of disconnection. It illustrates ​fragmented thoughts, the temporary mental pause, and the instinctual retreat ​when the brain encounters an excess of stimuli. Beyond language barriers, it ​encapsulates the freeze response- a momentary state of mental pause and ​disconnection triggered by information overload.

The project was a part of my Visual Communication Design Thesis, it ​included an infinity room displaying a series of graphic posters in Plaster of ​Paris with a shadow show, an experiential video and a pocketbook which ​contained activities to help people ground themselves to exit their freeze ​response.

With the project being completely white on white, and experiential, it ​wasn’t possible to record completely. However, here is a short behind ​the scenes clip to give an insight to the process and development!

The project showcased a series of diptychs that etched movement and verbs, in white on white to add to the experience of ​completely blanking out, or experiencing a mental stutter.

The project was a joint collaboration between UNESCO and Taxila ​museum, lead by my instructor at NCA, Ms Maliha Noorani. ​Unfortunately, due to restrictions I cannot share many visuals or ​photography other than those that have already been published,
